The name of our wines keep us close to our traditions and the dialect spoken in our territory. In our dialect “Merigge” is a shelter from the summer heat where you can restore your body and mind.
Merigge is an intense, enveloping wine produced from Merlot grapes, suitable for long aging. The accurately selected grapes are picked by hand and placed in crates. Following pressing and stripping, the grapes are placed for about three days in steel vats where they undergo crio-maceration at low temperatures. The fermentation is done at a controlled temperature with frequent racking a délestage.
After four weeks, the wine is drawn-off and the skins are pressed, accurately separated and processed. Merigge is initially aged in tonneaux for 18 months followed by another 18 months in bottle.
