A winery of ancient tradition

The Buccelletti family winery is a cellar of ancient traditions, situated in the beautiful Valley of Chio just outside of city center of Castiglion Fiorentino, Arezzo, Tuscany. Here the particular environmental conditions favor the production of excellent Valdichiana DOC and IGT Toscana wines and an excellent extra virgin olive oil. During opening hours, or by appointment, the winery is open to visitors for guided winery tours and tastings, and for direct product sales.

Wine and terroir

The company is directed by the women of the family and covers a territory of 60 hectares (148 acres). Six of which are dedicated to vineyards located at an average altitude of 330 meters above sea level in a south facing loamy soil. The main cultivated varieties are: Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Syrah, Merlot, Aleatico, Trebbiano, Grechetto and Vermentino. The careful selection of grapes during the fruit thinning, our choice to harvest the grapes by hand, and our careful processing in the cellar which combines ancient wisdom with modern technology makes our wines express the character of the territory.

The winemaking process

All of our wines are made in our cellar. The wine of Paggino, Albestre and Arrone are aged in steel and cement, while Poventa and Merigge are aging in tonneau of French and Slovenian oak. We alternate and control closely to ensure that the wood never prevails on the varietal characteristics of the grapes. Come and discover the production secrets of our fine Tuscan organic wines through an interesting guided tour of the winery.
